At gaining entrance to the Marakine dimension, Yoko dropped her human name and disowned it. From Takara Jume to simple Yoko. It hadn’t been the first time she had changed names. Names are like robes, and when you get tired of a robe you change it. Although the second time she changed names wasn’t of her own choice.

Born and raised in Japan, Yoko was born a bastard child to a Geisha apprentice under the possession of a Lord. Her mother sold her off as a future servant to a curious Geisha. Born by the name of Keiko Amamitsu, she was then sold and given the name of Takara Yume; it was to be her Geisha name. Her trainer and buyer was a well-known Geisha in Kyoto, Japan. Her name was Sachiko Yume, and other than being a Geisha, she was an assassin. She bought Yoko out of pity, but, after raising her into young adulthood, took to her and allowed her to join the Karagane clan in which she worked in as an assassin.

Sachiko was one of the few Geisha assassins in the clan, and the only one in Kyoto. She was respected and revered in her clan as a swift and graceful killer. No one questioned when she decided to add Yoko to their ranks. Although she was the youngest of anyone by far, Yoko took to the role quickly. It was either learn fast or die easy. And since birth, Yoko had found this saying one to live by. A bastard child under the ownership of a geisha, she was ridiculed and abused within the Geisha houses. Becoming a Geisha was no simple task, one had to go to school and train arduously day in and day out to become something near perfection with a hundred others trying to do the same and trying to become better than you.

Somewhere around the time she joined the Karagane clan, and when she was raised a Geisha, Yoko became obsessed with perfection. She would strive for it as much as possible, not only to look perfect but to be revered as such and nothing less. Perfection made her the perfect assassin, the perfect Geisha, and a dangerous woman to trifle with. Hard work within the Geisha training grounds gave her little time for beliefs in any deity. To say the least her religious beliefs were non-existent, and when she finally noted the existence of higher powers instead of adoring them, she envied them and realized she wished to be one herself.

Working for perfection, she believed, would get her closer to becoming a god. And with each death she believed would grant her easier passage to the ranks in the astral plain of the gods. It’s an understatement to say that the arduous training of becoming a Geisha, the ridicule, the shock of her first kill and being sold off to a geisha as property because she was a bastard child to an unknown yet powerful lord, had driven Yoko to insanity.

After Yoko found her job as an undercover assassin more and more entertaining, her desire to become a Geisha lessened after every kill and the only thing that finally made her decide to go on with becoming a geisha was how men worshipped her. Yoko isn’t a simple woman, and much less is she a woman of simple beauty. Yoko is a beautiful woman, a graceful sword with a sharp blade and a glittering hilt. As a Geisha, men paid pretty coin to have her simply play for guests or serve them tea. And when it came time to sell her virginity to the highest bidder, Yoko could have lived off the wealth she received till she turned wrinkly and old. Of course, becoming wrinkly and old was never something Yoko thought would happen to her. And she never did… she didn’t manage to live long enough to realize she was, at the time, but a mortal.

Yoko and Sachiko –Yoko’s trainer and adopted mother – usually worked together, and their last job was nothing different. They were to attend a feast arriving earlier than expected to prepare their instruments and the tea that was to be served. Sachiko was to entertain and seduce the lord of the house while Yoko searched the manor for his only son and heir. Once Yoko had killed the young boy, Sachiko was to kill the lord and they would leave.

Yoko never counted on other guests having arrived early to the house, and much less finding the boy being sexually molested by the early arrival. One unseen event, one simple miscalculation. The boy lived; bruised, his little ass red from taking in something a child shouldn’t take in, and perturbed. The soldier lived, naked from the waist down with an erect member while Yoko’s lifeless body slid from his blade and to the ground.

In death, Yoko was hurled into the Marakine dimension. A lost soul nowhere near a goddess. Instead, she was caged and trapped in the chambers of an Archon. Months passed before she decided she would sell her soul to her captor and become a Toran demon. Something she’s very proud of being.

Yoko now serves one of the higher Archons in the Marakine dimension. She is no longer a human but now has become a soulless Toran demon. The Archon asks little of her, or so it seems. She comes and goes as she pleases and rarely stays more than a night in his lair. The Archon has made her aware that he does not serve the empresses like most others do. He respects them and acknowledges their rank, but he serves them out of his own desire or needs. In change, the empresses seem to stay far from her Archon, while Yoko is sent to run his little errands here and there.

Yoko is a playful creature that may come off as friendly at first, but in reality is just a lover of attention. She is also very sexual, not because she loves the act of sex, but because she enjoys the adoration she receives during the act. Being property of one of the higher Archons, Yoko is safe from many of the dangers in the Marakine dimension, and she uses this knowledge in a wide array of ways, not all of them just to do her Archons’ biding. She comes and goes wherever she pleases, one day she’s seen in the ranks along with servants, the next she is dressed in royal regalia and having supper with someone of importance. She uses her abilities and rank to her advantage in every way possible and takes pleasure in playing the mischievous imp whenever possible.

It would be hard to tell where she was, even if she was standing right next to you. She uses her invisibility ability anytime she can. Being able to walk undetected anywhere she pleases is just something she can’t pass up the opportunity of doing, even if it is just to tell a passer-by child to jump off a bridge. She has no care for anyone but herself. Yoko is selfish, self-absorbed, confident, and self-adoring. She’s taken to her role of a Toran with an embrace as if she was meant to be one since birth. Manipulation comes naturally to her, like breathing or talking, and with the playful and seductive manner she carries herself around others, it’s sometimes hard to tell if she’s being playful, friendly, sexy, or manipulative. She’ll easily push a mother and a daughter into a fight to the death, but her specialty is men. Going soft at the slightest show of bosom or leg and melting from a simple touch, she bends them to her will in as many shapes and forms as she can imagine. And she’s been known to have a very wide imagination, and of course, let’s not forget that with years of learning in how many different ways she may use her abilities on others in the Marakine dimension, it is only obvious she’s learned many new tricks. Especially now that humans and mortals and vampires have begun to filter into her new home, she’s found herself stray from an errand just to play with a newcomer. She likes to play… so long as it gets her attention.

She answers to her Archon and only to him. He’s made it clear that she is to respect the empresses and stay out of their way and do their bidding as long as it does not interfere with his wishes. But then, Yoko had never been a woman who liked to be bossed around, and, as a soulless Toran, being a goddess has apparently been buried as a childish dream. But Yoko doesn’t believe so. Everything she does is still in a form of perfection, which tells of still a glint of hope she will someday become a goddess.

To Yoko, it’s not as far as it would look to others. Everything she does takes her a step closer to being greater, to becoming one of the Marakine beasts or a goddess. Her first step was to become a demoness, now she just needs the perfect plan… and the right people to pull it off with.
