The Malefice and Vitiosus lines are, historically, the same bloodline, fathered by the same fallen being that is lost to history. Two children where born of a cursed union, one damned with a dormant mutation in their blood that acted like a virus, and the other born with the gift of a powerful, yet horrific magic. As time passed, these two bloodlines grew apart, forgetting that they were in fact fathered by the same beast. Until one day when that same being caused the two lines to join together once again.

It was Animosity Malefice who met, and seemed to fall in love with a girl by the name of Kaliko Vitiosus back in ancient Roman times. Even if the marriage were not one of love, it would appear to be nothing out of the ordinary. The girls purpose was to have children, and have children they did. But the children of this union had a new curse… the mixture of the blood of the Malefice, and the blood of the Vitiosus brought forth the true power of that family, as well as what could be its downfall.

Each and every child they had seemed to grow ill within the first few years of life, resulting in the child’s death. Neither father, nor mother knew what was causing it. Animosity knew that it was typical in his family that only one in five children born would survive past childhood, but to have none survive? Kaliko, however, insisted that the next child they have be taken to the Temple of Hades, to plead with the God to not take their next child, to let the child live. It seemed that their prayers were answered , as their next child, a boy, did not die within the first few years and lived into adulthood.

After the success of their prayers, the couple brought each and every one of their children to the Temple of Hades, to ask for the God’s favor. It was attributed to the God that after the first child Kaliko began to have sets of twins, as well as have them live. In time the household consisted of five boys, and four girls. The curse which had afflicted the Malefice seemed to have been broken, but Animosity, nor Kaliko knew how. All they knew was that they had Hades to praise for the lives he had given them.

However, the happiness only endured briefly, and soon the Malefice/Vitiosus household suffered a terrible atrocity, which resulted in the death of all of its members… save the youngest two girls, Astaroth and Mania Malefice. These two girls were kidnapped by their attacker, sent off to live on the opposite sides of the world. Mania Malefice was later known as Amon Malefice, and that murder of her family so long ago set into motion the events that would bring about the end of the world on every level.
