Years ago, there were outcasts amongst men, women, Demons, Fallen, and even the Lycanthropes were not denied this. The Marakai was not the only place these creatures walked, though looking for a Lycanthrope now, in that land, might prove to be fruitless.

It is said that an outcast from the Archons fell in love with a Lycanthrope. Where this Lycanthrope came from, where this Lycanthrope ended up, other than dead, is not known... by any living, that will even hint about it. Even the outcast Archon has yet to be 'found'.

It has not been said what all transpired to warrant the necessity of either of their deaths or disappearances, but only two know, for certain, what the 'atrocity' committed was... and they are not telling: hence comes Maroth.

He seems to be a snivvling little whelp that has delusions of grandieur, and that might be so, but Maroth has yet to reach his prime or his full realization and training. He has learned to make great illusions to make him seem so much more powerful than he is, but then again, he has only been trained by one whose blood is enemy to one half of his lineage.

Maroth was found in the Swamps of Drifit by a young, in training Fallen, who came across to others as a human female with some special talents. She could not leave the child so... "unattended", as to her, he looked less than 5 years old. He was a little older, but truly not old enough to retain the memory of his mother and father attempting to rip the young woman to shreds, and they being killed by her trainers. Realizing that the rumors of the joining of a male Archon and a female Lycanthrope, the girl's trainers were all set to kill the abomination, doubly an abomination, but she convinced them otherwise.

Her heart, so much unlike the heart she had once had, spoke to them, all but begging them to let her raise him and train him, in an attempt to show them that not everyone born in this place is powerhungry and evil. Thanks to her pleas, she commenced with her training while Maroth slept and trained him while he was awake. Only one of her trainers through would watch the child while she resting, the older looking one.

" Emotional ties weaken us and will weaken him. He will be hunted if his heritage is found out. Neither side will allow for an abomination such as this. Death will come for him and there will be nothing you can do about it. But most of all, if you slip, he will be the death of you. "

Those words came from the trainer that wanted nothing to do with the child that would grow into a man, not much younger than the girl in front of him. There was a bond built between them and in all rights Maroth loves the girl who stood up for him then raised him the best she could... more than he should. She cares for him though, but not in the same way. This was seen by the one most called Wandering Sorceror, Nexeu. Being more responsible for the young woman's training and life, Nexeu ordered Chakra Celestine to leave Maroth's side and not to return. Nexeu saw that all Chakra's 'love' and training was about to turn against her and... he, they could not afford such a thing. There were only a few female Fallen Angels and Chakra still had not bore a child to assure the continuance of the Fallen.

Maroth has proven to be greedy, both monetarily and power seeking. He has made deals with 'devils' to get what he has now, and Nexeu at least would not put it passed Maroth to make a deal to endanger everyone around him, but himself.

Maroth now finds himself in a rather precarious situation. He has found the ruins of an Elder Archon's abode and taken up residence. He has listened to the walls, the floors, and every ounce of the earth it sits on. It has made him a bit.... crazy. He believes that the Elder Archon had picked a place that was the seat of power of Mithoul, not that place called, Kada. He often times spooks the servants as they see him walking around talking to someone, and there is no one there. But the conversation is about days before Maroth or even they lived. Old laws, not heard outside walls of sacred places in decades. Plots to right the wrongs done. What scares the people most, is he uses names they have heard over the years, through tales told by camp fires and fireplaces, that are dead and gone. They are also spooked that within the year he has come to live in the ruins of this place, that Maroth has become less of a spineless simpering idiot and more of a well tuned mind, that is ready for almost anything.

They can deal with his tantrums, which usually entail a woman telling him no, or backing away from him in disgust, but this change, slow, methodical, makes them fearful, especially with what has been running around Mithoul lately: Warlords, females, which strive to keep an 'orderly chaos' through raids that would stop wouldbe regents from staying on the throne.

" It is always the ones that babble senselessly that we need to worry of my dear one. For they are the ones that see the true path and can lead us down it, if we would only listen to their words and decipher their intellectual puzzles. " - Chakra Celestine, during his formative years before he became a teenager.
