-Marakine Demons-The Marakine demons are the most fascinating and the most hunted demons there are. They are the keepers of the world’s magic, sorcery and advanced human abilities. Marakine demons were never human, like many demons. They have always been demon, sons and daughters of the Four Marakian Beasts. There are hundreds of thousands of Marakine demons accounted for, but everyone knows the numbers outweigh Succubi, Incubi and Nephilim offspring combined. Though the Marakine are the offspring of powerful Imperial beings, they themselves are quite weak, the opposite of their mother’s and father’s. Each Marakine carries a single source of magic, or an advanced human ability such as foresight, or telepathy. And although they carry such an ability, they do not have the power to use it. They are simply carriers, or ‘keepers’ of the abilities they are born with. It is because of the ability they carry that they are hunted by most—if not all—other beings in and out of the Marakian dimension. The only being that cannot take their power are the Uru demons, even humans can inherit the power of a Marakine. In order to inherit such power, one must kill the Marakine demon. Once the Marakine is killed, the power or ability leaves the shell of the Marakine and enters the living being that made the kill. No single Marakine carries more than one source of power, or an advanced human ability. Because they are the keepers of power, there is no other power that can kill them. To kill a Marakine, one must do so the ‘old-fashioned’ way. But it is quite a fair fight, because the Marakine cannot use power either. They are fast, however, much faster than the average human is. They can learn to wield any weapon made by man with impeccable accuracy and efficiency. Marakine’s are not necessarily gentle, but they are not aggressive and cruel by nature as many other demons are. They are ‘neutral’, neither good, nor evil, but that is not to say they do not have the ability to choose a side. They often do choose sides, but it takes a lot of persuasion. © Copyright 2006 - 2009 J.A. Redmerski/Serenesta - All rights reserved.www.theworldofroleplay.com |
