History

Kaliko was born into the Vitiosus Family in the year 79 BC in the thriving city of Alexandria. The Vitiosus clan was a powerful one, with Kaliko’s father a well respected and celebrated general in the army. None in the Vitiosus clan were left to be paupers, and Kaliko began her education by the time she was three. By the age of seven she could read and write in Latin, Egyptian, Syrian, as well as a dozen other now dead languages. She was growing into a very beautiful and adored woman, her father was getting offers of marriage by the day. However, he would not let her marry until she was the age of 18, so that she would have completed her studies. But there were some things that her father could not even control. When Kaliko was about 17, she met a soldier of her fathers army. A very handsome Egyptian man and soon Kaliko found herself pregnant. What was she to do? Her father would be furious, after all... who would want to marry a girl who was not a virgin? It brought shame to her family, and in his rage her father kicked Kaliko out, telling her to not return until she was rid of the child growing within her. If the pregnancy was known by no one aside the family, then perhaps his honor could remain intact? It didn’t happen. Kaliko gave birth to twins a few months later, on the banks of the Mediterranean. There was no one there to help her, and she couldn’t even find the soldier that she had been with. Thus came Drake and Lance Vitiosus into the world. She tried to come back home, to her father, but he wouldn’t accept her, not with these illegitimate children. Word spread of Kaliko’s misfortune, and eventually Kaliko’s father and mother were forced to leave Alexandria because of the dishonor that Kaliko had brought upon them. So

Kaliko was then left with these two tiny babies, and no way to raise them, no way to feed them. Her search for their father intensified, and soon she was able to find him, living in a lavish villa on the other end of the city. She explained what happened to him, and handed her sons over to him, assuming that he would take care of them. After all, they were his children weren’t they? She then left with a heavy heart, hoping against all hopes that she had made the right decision.

Kaliko didn’t know where to go, but she couldn’t stay in Alexandria. She had no other choice but to wander, living from hand to mouth. There was a few times where she took up with the groups of gypsy wanderers that frequented the area, but she never really fit in. Then one day she met a man by the name of Animosity Malefice. She couldn’t quite understand it, nor could she control the overwhelming attraction they felt toward each other. Love... yes, it must of been love. At least that was what she told herself when she found herself once again pregnant. Eventually she and Animosity settled in Rome. He was a rather powerful person, though Kaliko didn’t know much about him or how he acquired his riches. All she knew was that she had servants again, and she had a home, and a place where her children could grow up. Now, more than ever, she thought of the two she had left behind. Lance and Drake... were they even still alive? how old would they be now? Should she look for them? No... no she couldn’t look for them. She hadn’t even told Animosity of them, and she would keep it that way. Once she had reached that decision, time seemed to move swiftly. She had the two children, a boy and a girl... then there were four children... and then six. By the time the youngest of the children were two, her eldest was 18, and she couldn’t of been more proud. But then tragedy hit. An attack... it must of been on all of Rome. The last thing she remembered was scooping up her two youngest, after seeing her eldest son cut down by a glimmering sword, running away with them. An image, on a hill... a silhouette of a man, and these monsters... crawling down the hill toward her and the children. These... they weren’t human! She didn’t know what they were. And she didn’t have the time to figure it out. She was hit from behind, and then it all went black. Kaliko had died... and that image of the silhouette was forever burned in her soul...

... That should of been the end of Kaliko. She had died, and she was at peace. At least as much peace her soul could get. But then... thousands of years later, she found herself once again alive. Summoned... as if she were some reusable entity. Where was she? What was she doing here? Why did it all seem so familiar? She was now alive in a time of automobiles, cell phones and the internet. It should shock her, but it all seemed so simple, like she’d been using them for the longest time. Nothing surprised her. Except for when she found out that, not only were her youngest daughters, Mania and Astaroth still alive... but so were her sons, Lance and Drake, the two she had given up. She immediately tried to rectify her relationship with her sons, the sons she never knew. But they knew less about her than she knew of them. And then came these dreams... these haunting dreams, of the man on the hill, the silhouette, the blood red sky... the man who killed her. Why... why was she back? What was her purpose now? What use do the Gods see for her?
