Karina is a child of the House Ramius, descended of the ancient line of dragons, the Azdajan. It is claimed that she and her kin are of direct lineage to the legendary Czar Vladimir Ramius, the only one to have led a successful inssurection against the rulership of House Nevsky. The Amber War was left in his wake, and while there are no longer whispers of a rebellion, Karina still holds the principles of that war dear to her heart.

The pride and determination that is representative of the Ramius burns deep within Karina, and from her youth she was taught to put it to good use. Karina's parents were very wealthy, having built a fortune foresting the thick Yvaan Forest which surrounded Ramiski. They rose from obscurity, to a position of power and wealth, enabling them to give Karina a fine education in a number of different areas. Not only was Karina skilled at reading and writing, but she could also speak 5 different languages, shoot a bow with the deadliest accuracy, as well as being quite skilled in close quarter combat.

Karina frequently remarks that she has lain a dagger into many a man's chest who dared to attempt to manipulate her into their plots. And she would not hesitate to do so again.

Through Karina's skilled diplomacy, and ability to carry herself in a regal manner, she rose to the position of Countess of House Ramius, proving her parents proud. Yet despite reaching these heights within her own House, she sought to make more than just her parents proud.

There was a reputation to regain for House Ramius, and Karina sought to reestablish that reputation.

It is rumored now that Karina had been seen cavorting with an Azov, well known for their own desire to usurp the Nevereskayan throne. Furthermore, some say that Karina has been dabbling into arts which were deathly similar to the forbidden necromantic arts which would instantly lead to her death.

Of course this is all rumor and speculation... And why would a Countess put herself at such risk?
