Background:

Lord Charan is rich, famous, feared – every single one of his exultant desires are met. Except for one. Charan wants to be more powerful than any other living creature, on this planet Earth or in the Marakai Dimension. He wants to have the Empresses prostrate themselves to him, and the empires of Earth kneel to him in unison. He wants to command the Four Beasts and make Archons cower.

He doesn’t think this is too much to ask of existence, and he doesn’t really care that it might take him a few years longer than he’d hope. He’s smart, uses discrepancy, and charismatic. He knows he just needs to keep going.

Charan’s early years are a secret known only to him. The men and women surrounding his early life have either died for one reason or another, or have simply gone into hiding. The only thing truly for certain is that he originates from Babylon and the Authurian bloodline.

Charan spent his days enjoying his enormous amount of wealth in the crimson city of the new Babylon. He was wealthy beyond compare; his machinations and plots and backstabbing had, over 600 years, earned him power and wealth and infamy. The amount of lords and ladies who have sworn fealty to Charan is staggering, giving him an incredible access to manpower and money at any time he wants.

At least, that's how it was.

One day, a bit after Charan woke up and began making himself some herbal tea for a horrible headache - which, by the way, he suspected had to have something to do with the serious amount of wine being passed around the party last night - he turned around, sipping the liquid, to see a face he had hoped to never see again. Accounts of the morning include a loud shouting match, ending in a scream, a shattered glass, and dead bodies littered around the Charan grounds. Little to no blood was found, despite the gruesome murders.

Lord Charan himself has gone missing. His whereabouts are unknown, which - to some - is an incredible relief. In Babylon, a missing Lord is something to take advantage of, not worry about. Life continued in the metropolis as always.

But Charan’s life… well… to him, it’s just barely beginning. His eyes are opened. And he’s gathering his soul.
