Aequitas was born into the royal house of Markalov, though not necessarily by her choice. While growing up, she always hated the way that her family felt themselves superior to others, mainly because it kept her from enjoying her childhood and having the opportunity to play with other children.

Aequitas was raised as all of her family, learning to ride a horse with her eyes closed and her hands tied behind her back, as well as taught the rudimentary knowledges as how to read and right. The minute Aequitas was able to take the horse out on her own though, she found it incredibly hard to ever force herself to return. She enjoyed the quietness that the steppes provided her, far away from her family and their rants of how other families are overcome with power struggles or seduced into the study of the darkest of arts, necromancy.

Despite her dislike of her family's ways, it came to be that she became just what she disliked about them� Snooty and superior. She does not do it on purpose, and when she finds that she is presenting herself stuck up around a stranger, she does her best to try to correct it. It seems that no matter what, one cannot escape nurture.
