Tiberius Meridius
Age: 35
Race: Human
Tiberius
was born in the province of Baetica in Hispania shortly following the
establishment of the Roman Empire. He was the son of Meridius, the governor of
the province, and of Lucretia, the daughter of the Roman Senator Bodaus. Being
sent to school at the age of eight to Hispalis, he studied under the tutelage of
Fulvus, the stoic philosopher. He joined the army at 17 as a Standard Bearer,
fighting in campaigns against the Celts in Britannia and against the Parthians
in Cappadocia. Honored for his bravery under the fire of battle, he moved up
through the ranks as optio, centurion, and then as primus pilus of the First
Cohort under General Lucius Veras.
Gaius Xerxes Caesar appointed him Legate of the Emperor's Legion not long after
the Marakai Dimension had been opened, granting him a seat amongst those who
would decide the
empire’s fate. He then led the army against the
Veture in Gaul and the Marcomanni in Germania; Authurians on both fronts.
He was away for four years until the final victory against the barbarians near
the river Danube upon which he had been granted leave. What little peace he
found following his return to Rome was shattered upon news of the Authurians
aggressive movements to the north. After the retirement of General Lucias Veras,
Tiberius was appointed General of the Roman Legions for his acts of valor and
competence, and he now answers directly to Gaius Xerxes Caesar. The Authurians
giving him little choice but to return to the front lines, Tiberius has taken up
his sword once more to put an end to the vampire menace that has plagued his
country for longer than he care to recall…
A religious man, Tiberius has never spoken a lie nor failed to follow through on
his promises. The trust of his men was not difficult to gain through
quick reflexes, outstanding strategic ability, and
courageous
leadership by example. His past is known, though his feelings tend to be
withheld; as though he were waiting to share them with someone of significance.
Upholding justice, truth, innocence, and peace, Tiberius truly is a man of the
people who has gained the trust of nearly all he has encountered throughout his
journeys, including a woman, whom he has not figured out to this day. Though
through her, he has gained a keen sense on things that aren't quite "normal",
depending on the ailment, he might feel at peace or start to become ill or
unnerved, though he is trained well enough not to show it.
Tiberius has found himself through truth meeting with the Vampiric underground
nation within the Roman Empire to set in motion a plan to take down the
Authurians to preserve and protect Rome and to bring peace to Her people. Though
he does not fear standing before Gaius Xerxes Caesar to answer for such
allegations, should they ever come about, Tiberius does not wish to be seen as
treacherous to the Empire he serves so vehemently with honor and vigilance.
Patience, Vigilance, and Nobility comprise his demeanor at any given moment
throughout his interactions with the outside world. Having never fallen by
another’s blade, Tiberius has yet to encounter a foe he cannot dispatch with
ease... Until the night he was defeated and captured by the Authurians and left
for dead... Now they have an enemy that will stop at nothing to see them wiped
off the face of the Earth.
