Channing Costorari is a young Scottish girl, only eighteen years of age, but already an Advanced Human. She learned her first use of inherited power at nine, passed down from her father. Her father was a wizard of the Clan MacNeur who was widely known as a man to revere…and a man to fear. Channing is hardly different from that of her father, but she carries with her a mischievous and roguish personality. She is an expert Grand Illusionist and she can levitate as flawlessly as any vampire. And not only has she learned many spells that have been around for generations, she has an extraordinary ability to create new ones with little effort. It simply comes natural to her.

However, sometimes the powers that Channing possesses she uses recklessly. She just doesn’t know when to take caution, or to leave well enough alone and she often gets herself into trouble. The best example would be the illusions she cast upon the Clan MacNeur when she was sixteen. She tricked the entire clan into believing there were dead soldiers haunting their camp. This went on for days and in the end, four of the clans people committed suicide because the faces of the dead drove them utterly mad. This is how Channing got her last name, Costorari, for her father was forced to remove her from their clan as punishment for what she did.

Channing still lives in Edinburgh, Scotland where she grew up, but she travels all over the world now after having met a band of Turkish gypsies. Now, instead of a Scottish Princess—her father gave her that title—she is a nomadic gypsy that loves to travel. But like her powers, the nomadic nature is also in her blood. Her mother was a gypsy almost all of her life before she died of the fever. They say her mother was not of full Scottish blood and this may very well be true, considering Channing herself believes she is linked to the Turks in more ways than becoming their friend. It is an odd mixture of culture, but entirely possible.

Channing has no brothers or sisters, and this along with being called a Scottish Princess all of her life has made her quite spoiled. But she isn’t so terribly spoiled that she does not appreciate what she is given and she doesn’t turn her nose up at those who may be unfitting of her company. This is not to say that she will befriend someone unfitting, she simply keeps her distance. She knows how to woo a crowd and seduce a flock of men, while at the same time giving women who might normally be jealous, little reason to despise her for being so uniquely attractive. She has a way with making even women want to get to know her…sometimes even in romantic ways. This she does not do intentionally, not by any means—she loves men, sometimes a little too much—but she cannot control what others think of her.
